Just had to try it! I've seen many painters capture the luminosity and translucency of oranges and lemons and wanted to challenge myself to see if I could do it. I set it up with a bright light which made the orange appear to glow from within. I think I got it in a couple little places where the white membrane appears to stay on the surface and opaque and it looks like you can see into the orange pulp. Anyway... this is something I will explore some more.
Abbey Ryan's masterful paintings come to mind. What a talent! And how does she get such control when holding her brush so far back?
